RIVERDALE é a nova série “teen” da CW que vem pra ocupar o lugar de Diário de Vampiros. Baseado numa HQ lançada em 1942, e grande sucesso na América do Norte e que passou despercebido em terras tupiniquins até então, já que somos grandes consumidores de quadrinhos de super-heróis apenas. Pelo grande sucesso migrou para um desenho animado em 1968, onde as personagens formam uma banda de garagem e ao final de cada episódio havia uma performance dessa banda, sendo que uma dessas músicas até virou o hit 1, em 1969.

Ao contrário das outras produções do canal, não tem personagens com superpoderes, vampiros, magia, ou viagem no tempo, tendo seu enredo baseado no dia a dia de adolescentes comuns, de uma cidade pequena norteamericana, que sofrem uma grande perda e o protagonista passa a rever suas escolhas e pensar melhor sobre o futuro. Não se engane a visão atual é bem subversiva se comparada as Hqs ou aos desenhos animados. O elenco ao meu ver pode ser a grande estrelada série.
Formado por: K.J. Apa, Archie Andrews, Lili Reinhart, Betty Cooper e Camila Mendes, Veronica Lodge que vivem o triangulo amoroso que mantem os olhos sobre essa cidadezinha desde os anos 40. Também temos no elenco os atores: Cole Sprouse, nosso velho conhecido desde Zack e Cody: Gêmeos em Ação, entre outros programas Disney, que dá vida ao misterioso Jughead Jones e Luke Perry que fez grande sucesso como Dylan no seriado Barrados no Baile nos anos 90, que agora interpreta o pai de Archie, Fred Archie.
