Grupo mais vendido dos anos 70 retorna em formato musical com uma versão original e emocionante
O Musical, que já conquistou milhares de fãs por todo o País, é a versão original do tributo aos eternos irmãos Karen e Richard Carpenter. Após lotar o Tom Brasil, uma das principais casas de show do Brasil, “Carpenters – O Musical” volta com o mesmo romantismo e emoção no melhor musical já produzido no Brasil em homenagem aos Carpenters. As apresentações com os mais emblemáticos sucessos do duo acontecem nos dias 18 e 26 de maio, no Teatro UMC, em São Paulo e no Teatro Municipal de Santo André, respectivamente.
A cantora Vania Evans interpreta Karen Carpenter no musical e a voz impressiona por ser muito similar com a homenageada. O grupo mais famoso da década de 70 emplacou nada menos do que dez singles. No entanto, o duo era muito mais do que criadores de discos de sucesso, seu som único e inigualável trouxe uma nova dimensão ao mundo da música popular.
Richard Carpenter, interpretado por Leandro Roverso, formou uma segunda roupagem musical com a irmã Karen, que encorpou uma voz que deixaria legado na música mundial. John Bettis foi um dos membros do grupo – assim como outros três estudantes, Leslie Johnston, Gary Sims e Danny Woodhams. Com Carpenter e Bettis escrevendo a maior parte do repertório do grupo e Richard elaborando os arranjos, eles eram conhecidos por Espectro. Desta vez, Richard optou por uma abordagem vocal.
O musical-tributo surgiu da ideia de Vânia Evans, que interpreta inigualavelmente o mito Karen Carpenter. “Nasci em São Paulo e vivi toda a efervescência das décadas 70 e 80, das quais o meu canto teve muita influência. Quando percebi que no Brasil jamais havia sido feito um trabalho em homenagem aos irmãos mais românticos do mundo, achei que eu poderia ousar. Treinei durante anos e fui aperfeiçoando a minha voz para que o timbre ficasse o mais idêntico possível ao de Karen”, conta Evans.

Durante a década de 70, quando bandas de hard rock faziam muito sucesso, Richard e Karen produziram uma música mais suave e bem distinta que os projetou num grupo seleto de artistas que mais vendiam discos em todos os tempos. Estima-se que a banda tenha ultrapassado os 100 milhões de discos vendidos em todo o mundo.
Eles estiveram no Brasil em 1981 para a divulgação do álbum “Made in America” prometendo retornar ao Brasil no ano para fazer shows que nunca aconteceram.
