Texto de um dos maiores autores de teatro do século XX, vencedor do Prêmio Nobel de Literatura em 2005, chega em São Paulo para curta temporada no Teatro Raul Cortez, de sexta a domingo
A peça O Inoportuno (The Caretaker), de Harold Pinter (1930-2008), foi escrita em 1959 e estreou em Londres no ano seguinte com enorme sucesso. Foi com esta peça, considerada uma de suas obras-primas, que Pinter passou a ser conhecido e tornou-se um dos dramaturgos mais respeitados e discutidos em todo o mundo, assim permanecendo até sua morte, três anos depois de ter recebido o prêmio Nobel de literatura em 2005. Influenciado inicialmente por Samuel Beckett – e também por Franz Kafka – Pinter foi um dos mestres do teatro do absurdo, expressão criada por Martin Esslin nos anos 50 do século passado. Depois de um tempo, ele desenvolveu um estilo próprio e as características de suas peças são únicas e marcantes, como a ambiguidade, a iminência do desastre, a passagem do tempo, as possíveis verdades e mentiras, as falhas da memória e, claro, as famosas pausas. Tudo isso pode ser visto nesta comédia dramática que aborda a impossibilidade de comunicação, envolvendo personagens marginais e solitários.
Mick (Well Aguiar) divide um apartamento com seu irmão mais velho, Aston (André Junqueira), que traz para dentro de casa o velho Davies (Daniel Dantas), supostamente um mendigo, um sem-teto, a quem resgatou numa briga em um bar. Com pena do homem, Aston lhe oferece a casa como abrigo até que ele se recupere, fisicamente, e consiga organizar seus documentos, então extraviados, para dar curso a seu caminho. Ao longo da trama, obrigados a conviver mais próximos do que desejavam, os interesses, mentiras e conflitos vão se revelando e provocando mudanças no comportamento dos personagens, navegando entre amor e ódio, pena e repulsa, solidão e tristeza.
“O ano era 2018. Ano esse em que se completaram exatos 10 anos em que perdemos Harold Pinter, sem sombra de dúvidas um dos maiores dramaturgos que já existiu, com inúmeras peças montadas mundo a fora. Pensando nisso resolvemos fazer uma homenagem a esse célebre autor inglês e para isso escolhemos uma de suas obras primas, que já foi montada no Brasil, em 1964, com direção de Antônio Abujamra e foi considerado, pela critica, um grande sucesso naquele ano. Agora passado mais de meio século, trouxemos O Inoportuno de volta aos palcos para relembrar esse grande artista, que tanto contribuiu para o teatro mundial, e fazer jus à sua existência”, afirma o diretor Ary Coslov, que recebeu o Prêmio Shell e APTR 2008 de Melhor Direção, pelo espetáculo Traição, texto de Harold Pinter. A tradução é de Alexandre Tenório, que também já traduziu inúmeras peças do autor, e recebe no Brasil o nome de O Inoportuno. Completam a ficha técnica Paulo César Medeiros na iluminação, Marcus Flaksman no cenário e Kika Lopes, que assina os figurinos.
