MAM SP inaugura exposição Fernando Lemos: ilustrações literárias
O Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo está em cartaz com a exposição Fernando Lemos: ilustrações literárias, que pode ser visitada na Biblioteca Paulo Mendes de Almeida, no horário de funcionamento do museu, de segunda a sexta-feira. A mostra reúne desenhos originais do artista que ilustraram contos e poemas ao longo de seu período de colaboração com o jornal O Estado de S. Paulo, na década de 1950, jogando luz sobre sua atuação como designer e ilustrador de publicações.
Fernando Lemos (Lisboa, 1926) já atuava como fotógrafo e artista gráfico em Portugal quando emigrou para o Brasil em 1953. Instalado por algum tempo na Pensão Mauá, no Rio de Janeiro, Lemos fotografou escritores e artistas ao seu redor.
Os traços geométricos utilizados por Lemos já apresentavam sinais da modernidade, acompanhando o movimento abstrato que acabara de chegar ao Brasil. “Assim, é possível revisitar um período de nossa cultura em que as artes gráficas e a literatura mantiveram uma relação criativa e potente“, conta Felipe Chaimovich, curador da exposição.
