1- A história
Um manicômio brasileiro no final dos anos 30. Um paciente é anunciado para internação. Apresenta-se como Miguel de Cervantes, poeta, ator de teatro e coletor de impostos. Chega na companhia de seu criado, Sancho.
Ele é abordado pelo Governador, louco que comanda os internos do hospital. O grupo ataca seus pertences e lhe subtraem suas poucas posses. Cervantes se preocupa apenas com um manuscrito, que é arremessado entre eles. Para dar a Cervantes a oportunidade de reaver seu manuscrito, o Governador instala um julgamento.
O Duque faz a acusação. Cervantes organiza sua defesa convidando os loucos a encenarem com ele uma peça de teatro.
É a história de D. Alonso Quijana, um velho fazendeiro aposentado, ávido leitor, desgostoso com os maus-tratos dos homens para com seus semelhantes. Melancólico com as injustiças do mundo e tomado pela loucura, imagina ser D. Quixote Senhor de La Mancha, um Cavaleiro Errante, atrás de aventuras que lhe permitam combater o mal, assistir os indefesos e praticar o bem.
2- Elenco de primeira
O elenco é formado por 35 atores entre grandes nomes do Teatro Musical como Cleto Baccic (D. Alonso Quijana/D.Quixote), Sara Sarres (Aldonza/Dulcineia), Jorge Maia (Sancho), Kiara Sasso (Antônia) e Fred Reuter (Dr. Sansão Carrasco). As cenas de ensamble são de grande imponência, pela qualidade técnica aperfeiçoada em 75 dias de ensaios.
3- Cenários e Figurinos
O cenário é uma opressiva estrutura metálica semicircular de oito metros de altura (quase o dobro da altura da última produção que esteve em cartaz no Teatro do Sesi-SP), adornado por elementos da arquitetura do início do século 20, com quatro escadas em curva, interligadas por uma passarela, que conduzem ao nível do palco, o território dos loucos. É essa estrutura que cria o cenário do manicômio e, ainda assim, remete a um local abaixo do solo, assim como na versão original que é ambientado em um calabouço da inquisição. A estrutura é recoberta por mais de 400 metros quadrados de tule importado pintada a mão pelo artista cênico Vincent Guilmoto, com escrita ao estilo de Bispo do Rosário. Toda execução de construção foi realizada pelo Senai-SP, na escola de Lençóis Paulista. Nos figurinos, joias feitas com latas amassadas, coroas de prendedores de roupas, trapos que se transformam em luxo, tudo muito minimalista.
4- Repertório
As músicas, de Mitch Leigh e letras de Joe Darion, dão destaque ao espetáculo e se tornam memoráveis ao público, como o clássico “O Sonho Impossível”, e as canções originais “Dulcineia”, “O Homem de La Mancha” e “É Tanta Preocupação”.
5- Entrada Franca
Vencedor do Prêmio APCA 2014 de Melhor Espetáculo e Melhor Ator, o musical O Homem de L a Mancha já foi visto por mais de 100 mil expectadores. A adaptação da obra Dom Quixote de La Mancha, de Miguel de Cervantes, fica em cartaz no Teatro Sesi-SP até 28 de junho deste ano. As exibições são gratuitas e os ingressos podem ser reservados pelo site www.sesisp.org.br/meu-sesi. Os ingressos remanescentes são distribuídos nos dias do espetáculo, a partir do horário de abertura da bilheteria (de quarta a sábado, das 13h às 21h, e aos domingos, das 11h às 19h).
