MAM 70: MAM e MAC USP

Um dos pioneiros a colecionar e exibir arte moderna no Brasil, o MAM (Museu de Arte Moderna) comemora 70 anos de atividade com a exposição “MAM 70: MAM e MAC – USP”. A mostra está em cartaz desde o dia 04 de setembro e conta a história de ambas as instituições, abrindo-se para temas focados no futuro da sociedade, como a relação entre arte e ecologia – assuntos que permeiam a identidade do museu.

A relação entre as intuições começou em 1963, quando o MAM doou toda a sua coleção à época pada a fundação do MAC (Museu de Arte Contemporânea): “A coleção dos anos 40 e 50 é uma matriz dos dois museus, que serviam como um impulso seminal para o desdobramento de outras instituições, como a Cinemateca Brasileira e a Bienal de São Paulo”, afirma Felipe Chaimovich, curador da instituição.
Com uma coleção com mais de 5 mil obras produzidas, pelos nomes mais renomados da arte moderna e contemporânea, o MAM selecionou 103 para essa exposição, que aponta para o futuro. Entre as peças selecionadas encontram-se trabalhos de artistas internacionais, como o de Joan Miró, Fernand Léger e Jean Arp, além de brasileiros como Alfredo Volpi, Geraldo de Barros, Maureen Bisilliat, Nelson Leirner, Cildo Meireles, Tunga, Anna Bella Geiger, Cláudia Anduja, dentre outros.
Na exposição serão apresentados importantes momentos da história da arte brasileira, como a 1ª Bienal de São Paulo, realizada pelo MAM em 1951, a mostra do Grupo Ruptura, em 1952, obras da Jovem Gravura Nacional, do Jovem Desenho Nacional, da Jovem Arte Contemporânea e de programas recentes de aquisição. “MAM 70: MAM e MAC – USP” tem curadoria de Felipe Chaimovich, Ana Magalhães e Helouise Costa e ficará em cartaz no MAM até 16 de dezembro.
