Mas não como se esperava. Ela tentou fazer algo com uma atmosfera tensa o tempo todo. Conseguiu, em partes. Mas provavelmente não chegará a atingir o público esperado.

Sua versão da obra adapta o conto de King para o ano de 2013. Onde antes se via o bullying apenas na escola, Pierce adapta para a era globalizada onde o que está no mundo real está também no YouTube e aquela cena clássica do vestiário do começo tem esse toque de tecnologia.Chloë Grace Moretz, a atriz que interpreta Carrie, não é estranha. Eu sei que o título é “Carrie, A Estranha” apenas em português no Brasil, mas estranha é algo tão relativo que não tem como não comparar com a atriz em si.
Carrie é estranha apenas para quem não entende o que sua mãe faz com ela e aí, entrando num mérito totalmente superficial a respeito da escolha da atriz às opiniões dos colegas de escola de Carrie, eu concordo com a denominação.Afinal, o que faz Carrie de tão estranho (além de ter poderes paranormais)?

Sua mãe, interpretada por Julianne Moore, sim, é estranha. A senhora White prega a fé religiosa extremista e não hesita em falar que Carrie não poderá pecar.
Ao saber da primeira menstruação da menina, não hesita em acusá-la de pecadora. ORA, senhora White, mas que hipócrita: você é realmente tão ignorante a ponto de realmente acusar Carrie por algo que seu corpo iria passar, certo? Foras, gostei da atuação de Moore. Conseguiu dar profundidade ao papel da mãe e me fez ter ainda mais desprezo pela personagem.(Foto: Diário de Pernambuco)
Claro que Carrie se vê em um dilema: sua mãe ou sua vida? Ela acaba sendo alvo de zoação da escola toda pelo que aconteceu no vestiário quando de repente o cara mais popular da escola o convida para o baile de formatura – nade menos do que o sonho de qualquer menina americana com 14 anos. E ela vai. E lá shit happens.
O diferencial da versão de Pierce é que – opa, spoiler! Mas quem não conhece a história, me desculpe, depois de tantos anos do lançamento do livro e do filme, está é muito atrasado – após a matança habitual de Carrie no baile de formatura o filme continua. Ficou meio trash, meio “Arraste-me para o Inferno” e sangue por toda a parte. Não que eu não goste, mas tudo em excesso é ruim.
Até mesmo Carrie White se tornando serial killer de bullies. O que eu salvaria desse terceiro ato são alguns efeitos especiais, como a cena do carro que empina e entra com tudo na cabine telefônica. Fora isso, muito barulho pra nada.(Foto: Cinetoscopio)
Antes do lançamento do filme, li por aí que Carrie havia sido transformada praticamente num X-Men. É bem por aí, infelizmente.
