CONSTELLATION: TEMPORADA PRORROGADA ATÉ MARÇO!
Em cartaz desde novembro no Teatro Vannucci, o musical “Constellation – Uma viagem musical pela década de 50” se tornou uma febre e o sucesso junto ao público garantiu ao espetáculo a prorrogação da temporada até o dia 29 de março. A peça está em cartaz de quinta a sábado às 21h30 e domingo às 20h30 no Shopping da Gávea.
O ano é 1955. O cenário, uma Copacabana que vivia sua época de ouro, encantando celebridades internacionais e lançando modismos que se espalhavam pelo País. Foi neste contexto que a Varig adquiriu a aeronave mais moderna que havia no mercado da aviação e inaugurou uma nova rota entre Rio de Janeiro e Nova Iorque. Surgia o Super Constellation G, um avião super luxuoso, que reduziu o tempo de voo de 72 horas para apenas 20 horas e influenciou diretamente nos hábitos locais. Este é o pano de fundo para o musical “Constellation”, dirigido por Jarbas Homem de Mello e escrito e idealizado por Cláudio Magnavita. Sob direção musical de Beatriz De Luca e coreografias de Vanessa Guillen, o público desfruta de um repertório de 16 canções clássicas americanas da década de 50 como “Only You”, “Blue Moon”, “Stand by Me”, entre outros sucessos. No elenco estão Andréa Veiga, Jullie, Lovie, Cleiton Morais, Daniel Cabral, Drayson Menezzes, Franco Kuster, Marcio Louzada e Ugo Capelli.
– É o primeiro espetáculo que dirijo no Rio de Janeiro, depois de dirigir vários em São Paulo. É especial, pois a peça trata de uma época de muito romantismo, Copacabana vivia seu apogeu, as pessoas se arrumavam mesmo para ficarem em casa – diz Jarbas Homem de Mello.
Na peça, a atriz e cantora Jullie (participante do The Voice) dá vida à jovem Regina Lúcia que está na disputa por uma passagem para Nova York no voo inaugural do Super Constellation G em um concurso da Rádio Nacional, cuja final acontecerá no Golden Room Copacabana Palace. Ela divide um quarto e sala em Copacabana com a mãe – separada do marido – e Tia Maria da Penha, interpretada por Andréa Veiga, uma vedete do Cabaré Casablanca. As três representam o início de uma geração que viveu no ano de 1955 um boom imobiliário no bairro gerado por um encantamento que tornou o bairro na Zona Sul carioca desejado por milhares de pessoas.
– A chegada do Constellation permitiu que a alta sociedade frequentasse a Big Aplle e isso trouxe uma grande influência musical. Ao mesmo tempo, Copacabana viu seus imóveis diminuírem de tamanhos e serem ocupados por jovens sonhadoras pela american away of life. Estamos produzindo um espetáculo musical de um autor nacional apenas com clássicos americanos – conta o produtor Frederico Reder, da Brainstorming Entretenimento.
Fruto de um extenso trabalho de pesquisa de Magnavita, “Constellation” narra o voo inaugural do avião Super Constellation G, um fato que gerou inúmeras matérias nos jornais da época e proporcionou momentos históricos, com personagens que se tornaram referência daquela geração. Jorginho Guinle, Carmen Mayrink Veiga, Martha Rocha, Ieda Maria Vargas e Pelé são alguns nomes que surgem ao longo do espetáculo para ilustrar esse momento tão rico da história brasileira.
– Por ser jornalista especializado em aviação percebi que este momento histórico precisava ser contado. Este foi o primeiro voo de longo curso da Varig e justamente no início do glamour do Rio de Janeiro. Como autor, fiz questão de manter distante do processo de criação da montagem, pois sabia que estava em boas mãos – diz Cláudio Magnavita, que além de produtor teatral atualmente ocupa o cargo de Secretário de Estado de Turismo do Rio de Janeiro.
