São raros os filmes que atravessam gerações e se mantêm no imaginário dos espectadores. É o caso do universo de Star Wars, criado pelo cineasta George Lucas, que ainda possui uma legião de fãs após quase 40 anos de sua criação. Até 26 de novembro, a Praça Victor Civita recebe alguns dos personagens mais icônicos vindos de outras galáxias: o ciclo “A invenção de um universo” terá sessões gratuitas, às quintas-feiras, às 20h, com distribuição de pipoca.
Os filmes receberam ou foram indicados diversas vezes ao Oscar e em outras premiações importantes em diferentes categorias, entre elas: Melhor Trilha Sonora, Melhor Direção de Arte, Melhor Figurino, Melhor Edição e Melhores Efeitos Especiais. Aproveite para curtir a última temporada do Cine na Praça deste ano, pois a jornada será retomada no início 2016.
Na primeira semana o filme escolhido foi o Episódio IV – Uma Nova Esperança, de 1977. A trama conta a história de extermínio dos cavaleiros jedi e mostra como a galáxia era duramente governada pelo império. Em resposta a isso, um pequeno grupo de rebeldes atreve-se a roubar os planos secretos da estação de batalha Estrela da Morte sobre a mais temível arma imperial. Darth Vader (David Prowse), fiel súbdito do imperador, é encarregado de encontrar esses planos. Nesse meio tempo, a princesa Leia (Carrie Fisher), uma líder rebelde capturada, envia uma mensagem de ajuda, que é interceptada por Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), um rapaz do campo que aceita o desafio de salvá-la e ajudar a derrubar o império. Para isso, ele recebe os aliados Obi-Wan Kenobi, Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Chewbacca e os andróides R2-D2 e C-3PO.

O dia 12/11 terá o Episódio V – O Império Contra-Ataca, dirigido por Irvin Kershner na década de 80. Nele Darth Vader planeja uma vingança após sofrer um ataque das forças rebeldes, e Luke Skywalker tenta ir ao encontro do mestre Yoda, com a intenção de que ele possa ajudá-lo a se tornar um cavaleiro jedi. Mas decide voltar para salvar a princesa Leia e Han Solo, capturados pelo vilão.
Já o sexto (e último) episódio da trilogia, O retorno do Jedi, tem sessão marcada para 19/11. O longa mostra a construção de uma nova Estrela da Morte, que é supervisionada pelo imperador (Ian McDiarmid). Enquanto isso, Luke liberta Han Solo e princesa Leia das mãos de Jaba – o pior bandido das galáxias. Dirigido por Richard Marquand, o filme é marcado pela inesperada revelação de um segredo sobre Luke e Darth Vader, que quer atrai-lo para o lado negro da força.
A programação do dia 26/11 será reservada para um encontro especial: a partir das 16h haverá um Cine Debate. Serão 11 mesas com a participação de cineastas, produtores e roteiristas para falar sobre criação, financiamento, dificuldades do setor e novas janelas de exibição.
