Neil deGrasse Tyson aborda a exploração espacial em livro
No dia 20 de julho, comemoram-se 50 anos desde que o homem viajou à Lua pela primeira vez, no ano de 1969. Para marcar a data, a Editora Planeta lança Crônicas Espaciais, livro do astrofísico Neil deGrasse Tyson, que fala sobre a exploração espacial e explica por que ela é mais importante do que nunca, nos dias atuais.
Através de seus artigos, o cientista mais aclamado da atualidade reflete sobre temas como os programas da Nasa e o investimento que a literatura científica tem recebido, além das dificuldade das missões espaciais, a existência de alienígenas e até mesmo a série Star Trek, tudo escrito de maneira instigante e com muito bom humor.
A obra apresenta um compilado de ensaios, discursos e entrevistas de Tyson, onde ele conta mais sobre as ambiciosas explorações espaciais, a logística desses procedimentos e os principais obstáculos que impedem o progresso. Tyson também faz uma perspectiva para o futuro, discutindo os avanços relacionados à propulsão que permitiria expandir o alcance. “Crônicas” traz algumas informações sobre a legislação que estabelece e dirige a Nasa, além de dados sobre as despesas da agência, a economia espacial global e os orçamentos espaciais governamentais.
