Caras de Plauto estreia no Espaço Parlapatões
Com texto de Atilio Bari, Caras de Plauto é uma viagem por mares gregos e romanos, tocada por ventos de brasilidade. O espetáculo é baseado em “Menecmos”, escrito por volta do ano 250 antes de Cristo, por Tito Maccio Plauto, um comediógrafo romano que escrevia peças ambientadas na Grécia. Foi o precursor da comédia popular, criando enredos e situações facilmente identificáveis pela plateia. A história trata das confusões e desencontros decorrentes da presença de dois irmãos gêmeos numa mesma cidade, envolvendo jovens e velhos, esposas e meretrizes, serviçais e parasitas.
Plauto foi o primeiro comediógrafo a colocar no palco personagens populares, ao contrário do que se fazia até então na comédia clássica grega. Com ele, o povão entrou em cena. Criou tipos que se tornaram recorrentes na comédia universal, e os seus enredos foram retrabalhados por autores da comédia del’arte e por dramaturgos como Shakespeare, na Comédia dos Erros, Moliére, em O Avarento, e Ariano Suassuna, em O Santo e a Porca.
A adaptação de Atilio Bari retoma uma característica do original de Plauto, cujos textos eram construídos em versos, o que cria uma musicalidade na fala e um ritmo especial na encenação. O elenco utiliza máscaras especialmente elaboradas para cada ator, que identificam claramente a posição social e o caráter de cada personagem. O texto recebeu o premio de Pesquisa de Teatro Popular no Festival de Teatro de Resende – RJ.
A encenação de Caras de Plauto reproduz o espírito dessa comédia anárquica e despudorada, num texto totalmente rimado e introduzindo elementos de brasilidade.
