A série “Gossip Girl”, que acabou virando um ícone pop graças às suas narrativas sobre a vida amorosa dos adolescentes da elite de Nova York, terá uma nova versão que será exibida na futura plataforma de streaming HBO Max.

Segundo o serviço, uma nova série contendo 10 episódios foi encomendada. A trama se passará oito anos após os eventos finais de “Gossip Girl”. A nova série, uma continuação da original, exibida em 2012, acompanhará novos jovens de escola particular.

Ainda não se sabe a respeito de elenco, incluindo os atores da formação original da produção, mas Blake Lively, Penn Badgely, Chace Crawford e Leighton Meester foram convidados a participar do projeto. A HBO disse, ainda, que a nova série irá colocar em pauta o quanto as redes sociais e Nova Iorque mudaram nos últimos anos.

“Gossip Girl” teve seis temporadas, considerada uma das séries mais populares da TV, foi ganhadora de 18 prêmios Teen Choice, além de inspirar moda, cortes de cabelo e linhas de beleza.
